Bicyclist Struck, Critically Injured By SUV

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A bicyclist was critically hurt when he was hit by the driver of an SUV in the Northwest Side Irving Park neighborhood Sunday night.

The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban was heading north on Milwaukee Avenue and turning left on Addison Street when they struck the bicyclist at 9:45 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.

The bicyclist, a 22-year-old man, was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Sullivan said.

The driver of the Suburban was cited for failure to yield right of way, Sullivan said.
