Bicyclist Struck By Vehicle, Seriously Injured In Crystal Lake Crash
(STMW) -- A bicyclist sustained serious injuries Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle in northwest suburban Crystal Lake.
About 5 p.m., crews responded to a traffic crash involving a bicyclist and a Chevrolet Trailblazer on Miller Road at Heaven's Gate, according to a statement from Crystal Lake police. The bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Miller Road when the vehicle attempted to turn left onto Heaven's Gate and collided with the bike.
The bicyclist was transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin with serious but non life-threatening injuries, police said.
The driver of the Trailblazer was arrested for driving with a suspended license and cited for failure to yield while turning left, police said.
