Bicyclist Struck And Killed By Vehicle In Niles

NILES, Ill. (STMW) -- A Northwest Side man riding a bicycle was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday in north suburban Niles.

Jeremy Ghisols, 39, of the 5500 block of North Mulligan Avenue, was stuck by a vehicle Friday while riding a bike in the 6800 block of West Howard Street, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead at 12:49 p.m., the medical examiner's office said. An autopsy conducted Sunday ruled Ghisols' death an accident.

A representative from the Niles Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment Monday morning.
