Bicyclist Struck And Killed By Vehicle In Franklin Park

(STMW) -- A 51-year-old bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle early Saturday in west suburban Franklin Park.

Dagoberto Huizar was struck in the 3000 block of Mannheim Road in Franklin Park, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:07 a.m.

An autopsy performed Sunday found Huizar died of head and neck injuries, and ruled his death an accident.

Franklin Park police could not be reached to comment on Sunday afternoon.
