Bicyclist Dies After Crashing Into Jeep In Bridgeport

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A bicyclist died after he ran a red light and struck a vehicle Thursday night in the South Side Bridgeport neighborhood, police said.

About 11 p.m., 20-year-old Jacob Bass was riding west on the 700 block of West 33rd Street when he failed to stop at a red light and struck a Jeep Wrangler headed south, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Bass, of the 900 block of West 34th Street, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The Jeep driver was cited for driving without a license, police said.
