(CBS) -- A 38-year-old bicyclist was injured when struck by a truck Thursday in the north side Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Police said the bicyclist was in the truck's "blind spot" when she was struck about 12:15 p.m. Thursday at the six-way intersection of Lincoln Avenue, Fullerton Parkway and Halsted Street.

Police Major Accident Investigation Unit investigators determined that the Ford F-650 truck was making a right turn from Fullerton onto Halsted when the accident occurred.

Police said the woman was knocked from the bicycle and hit her head on the pavement.  She sustained injuries to her head, back and left side. Authorities said Thursday night the woman had died, but Friday afternoon they said she had survived, and was in stable condition.

The driver of the F-650 was issued a citation at the scene.
