Better Business Bureau Warning Consumers To Avoid '12 Scams Of Christmas'

(CBS) -- The Better Business Bureau is out with a warning of what it calls, "The Twelve Scams of Christmas."

WBBM's Regine Schlesinger reports he consumer watchdog group says the losses that hit consumers each year at Christmas are staggering. Among some of the common scams compiled by computer protection company, McAfee:

You've got mail: think before clicking links in shipping notification emails - they could be phony by hackers trying to get your personal information; fake charities that prey on the generous spirit of many during the holiday season and the unwanted gift of malware loaded onto supposed gift e-cards - make sure it's actually from someone you know.
