Berwyn Police Officer Charles Schauer, Killed In Crash, Laid To Rest

RIVER FOREST (CBS) -- A Berwyn police officer, killed in a car crash, was laid to rest on Saturday.

Friends, family and fellow officers paid their respects to Charles Schauer at St. Vincent Ferrer church in River Forest.

Schauer was a 10-year veteran of the force, and leaves behind a wife and two children.

The 33-year-old died Sunday, when the car he was riding in slammed into a truck on I-55.
