Berwyn Man Charged With Killing Aurora Man In West Town Fight

(STMW) -- A west suburban man has been charged with murder after an Aurora man who was hit in the head during a fight in West Town last week died of his injuries Sunday.

Antwon Williams, a 33-year-old from the 2200 block of Scoville in Berywn, faces one count of first-degree murder, police announced Wednesday night.

Williams allegedly struck 53-year-old Raphael Watts in the head during a fight about 9:40 p.m. on Sept. 4 in the 2600 block of West North Avenue, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Watts, of the 1100 block of Kane Street in Aurora, died at Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 11:25 a.m. Sunday, according to the medical examiner's office.

An autopsy Wednesday found Watts died of blunt force head trauma from an altercation with another person, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Williams, who police say was violating parole, is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
