Bears Trim Roster To 75 Players

(CBS) The Bears made a series of moves Tuesday to cut their roster down to 75 players by the 3 p.m. deadline.

Chicago has waived linebacker Jarrett Grace and also waived linebacker Lamin Barrow with an injury settlement. Additionally, the Bears placed center Hroniss Grasu and quarterback Connor Shaw on the season-ending injured reserve list and linebacker Roy Robertson-Harris on the season-ending reserve non-football illness list.

Grasu tore his ACL early in training camp, while Shaw suffered a broken leg last Saturday in a preseason game against the Chiefs.

On Saturday, NFL teams have to cut their roster down to 53 players. The biggest decision awaiting the Bears is whether to keep linebacker Pernell McPhee on the physically-unable-to-perform list to open the season or activate him onto the 53-man squad. If McPhee stays on the PUP list, he'll have to miss at least six games.
