Bears Sign S Wilson, TE Mastrud

(CBS) The Bears have signed safety Adrian Wilson and tight end Jeron Mastrud to one-year contracts, they announced Monday afternoon.

A five-time Pro Bowler with the Cardinals between 2006 and 2011, Wilson, 34, was with the Patriots last season but didn't play a regular-season down for them after tearing his Achilles in the preseason finale. In 2012, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound Wilson started 14 games in Arizona, recording 39 tackles, three sacks and an interception.

Both safety positions remain open competitions heading into training camp for the Bears, with Ryan Mundy, Chris Conte, M.D. Jennings and Brock Vereen in the same and now, presumably, Wilson as well.

The 6-foot-6, 255-pound Mastrud, 26, played with the Raiders last season, starting 12 games and recording six catches for 88 yards. He played with the Dolphins for three seasons prior to that.
