Bears Sign Former Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen, Waive LB Lawrence Wilson

(CBS) -- The Chicago Bears have signed quarterback Jimmy Clausen to a one-year contract while waiving line backer Lawrence Wilson.

Clausen started 10-of-13 games during his four-year NFL career with the Panthers (2010-13) after being selected by Carolina in the second round (48th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame, the Bears said in announcing the deal Thursday.

Wilson spent the 2013 preseason with the Bears and the last seven weeks of the regular season on Chicago's practice squad but did not appear in a regular season game. He has also spent time with Carolina (2011), Tennessee (2012) and New Orleans (2012) but has not appeared in a regular season contest, the Bears said.
