Bears Sign DL Mitch Unrein

(CBS) The Bears have signed defensive lineman Mitch Unrein, they announced Friday. In a corresponding move, they waived defensive lineman Lavar Edwards.

Unrein has appeared in 56 games across five seasons with the Broncos (2011-'14) and the Chargers (2015), mostly as a reserve. He entered the NFL in 2010 as an undrafted free agent with the Texans. He went to the University of Wyoming.

Edwards has appeared in 12 career games, including last Sunday for the Bears against the Cardinals.
