Bears Reverse Course At Long Snapper, Re-Signing Patrick Scales

(CBS) The Bears' flurry of roster activity continued Monday morning when they reversed course at long snapper.

Just days after including Aaron Brewer on their initial 53-man roster, Chicago cut him and re-signed Patrick Scales to fill the job.

In other roster moves, the Bears also parted ways with vested veteran offensive lineman Amini Silatolu and signed quarterback Matt Barkley to their practice squad.

On Sunday, Chicago made several big moves. It signed offensive lineman Josh Sitton, a three-time Pro Bowler who was cut by the Packers on Saturday, to a three-year deal. Late Sunday, news broke that the Bears were releasing veteran kicker Robbie Gould, who'd spent his entire 11-year career in Chicago and is the NFL's ninth-most accurate field goal kicker of all time.
