Bears Release Linebacker Sam Acho

(CBS) -- The Chicago Bears have released linebacker Sam Acho and elevated linebacker Lamin Barrow from the practice squad, they announced Saturday, on the eve of their season opener against the Green Bay Packers.

Acho, 26, has played four seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Barrow, 24, played in 16 games with the Denver Broncos last year after being drafted in the fifth round out of LSU. The Bears signed Barrow to their practice squad after he was waived by the Broncos earlier this month.
