Bears Re-Sign DL Mitch Unrein

By Chris Emma--

(CBS) The Bears have solidified depth on the defensive line by re-signing Mitch Unrein to a two-year deal.

Terms of the deal aren't yet known. Unrein, 28, will be entering his sixth season in the NFL, spending his first four years with the Broncos before moving to the Chargers for a brief time. After that, he joined the Bears last September and played in 14 games, recording 18 tackles and a sack in a reserve role.

Unrein's a 6-foot-4, 305-pound defensive tackle who joined the Broncos as a rookie in 2011 and then solidified a role during John Fox's tenure, which began in 2012.

Chicago also signed linebacker Jerrell Freeman to a three-year deal Saturday, placing the inside linebacker next to Danny Trevathan in Vic Fangio's 3-4 defense.
