Bears Place D.J. Williams On Injured Reserve

(CBS) The Bears have placed linebacker D.J. Williams on injured reserve with a neck injury that will end his season.

The 32-year-old Williams had 73 tackles, including 1.5 for loss, in 12 games this season, 10 of which were starts. Williams will become a free agent this offseason.

Youngsters Shea McClellin, Jon Bostic and Christian Jones will likely be Chicago's starting linebackers now.

In a corresponding move, Chicago has signed fullback Montell Owens, a two-time Pro Bowler who most recently with with the Lions. He also has special teams experience.
