Bears Place Alshon Jeffery, Eddie Goldman On Season-Ending IR

(CBS) Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery and defensive tackle Eddie Goldman will each miss Sunday's season finale against the Lions after they were placed the season-ending reserve/injured list Wednesday.

Jeffery has been plagued by soft-tissue injuries all season long, as this Sunday will mark the seventh games he's missed. He most recently suffered a hamstring injury on Dec. 20. He also had a calf injury just prior to that.

Jeffery will finish the year with 54 catches for 807 yards and four touchdowns.

The rookie Goldman has been stellar in the middle of the Bears defense, appearing in all 15 games to date and making 12 starts, recording 39 tackles, six tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He also has 19 quarterback pressures.

In corresponding moves, the Bears have signed defensive lineman Greg Scruggs and defensive lineman Terry Williams.

Scruggs appeared in 14 games for the Seahawks from 2012-'14. He was originally a seventh-round pick in the 2012 draft.

Williams has spent part of this season on the Bears' practice squad after entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina.

The Bears (6-9) host the Lions (6-9) on Sunday at noon.
