Bears Hire Dave Ragone As QB Coach

(CBS) The Bears have hired Dave Ragone as their new quarterbacks coach, they announced early Friday evening.

A four-year NFL coaching veteran, Ragone spent the 2015 season as an offensive quality control coach for the Redskins. He previously worked as the Titans' quarterbacks coach in 2013.

Ragone fills the void that opened when the Bears promoted Dowell Loggains to offensive coordinator, which followed Adam Gase leaving to become the Dolphins' coach. Loggains and Ragone worked together for several years in Tennessee.

Ragone spent three seasons in the NFL as a quarterback with the Texans, from 2003-'05. He's a native of Middleburg Heights, Ohio and attended college at Louisville.
