Bears' Eddie Goldman's Ankle Injury Won't Require Surgery

By Chris Emma--

(CBS) The Bears returned to Halas Hall on Monday with some apparent good news, as coach John Fox said that it appears defensive tackle Eddie Goldman's ankle injury won't require surgery.

"I don't think it's surgical, but I don't know all the exacts," Fox said. "It's really not good to report on it yet until we get all the information."

Goldman suffered an ankle injury during the third quarter of Sunday's 26-21 win over the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay. He left the game and didn't return.

It would seem that Goldman's 2015 season is over, though the Bears haven't yet made any corresponding roster moves. The second-round pick out of Florida State finished with 4.5 sacks in 15 games during his rookie run.

"I could've been even more productive," Goldman said in a recent interview. "I wouldn't say I'm satisfied."

The Bears' season finale comes on Sunday when they host the Lions at Soldier Field.
