Friday's latest buzz ...

9:25 p.m. - The Bears drafted former Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton with the 82nd overall pick. Here is our story on what Sutton had to do this offseason to get drafted by the Bears.

7:31 p.m. - The Bears drafted former LSU defensive tackle Ego Ferguson with the 51st overall pick. Here is our story on how he fits in with the Bears.

7:20 p.m. - The Baltimore Ravens have selected Florida State defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan, who was No. 10 on Hoge's Bears Big Board. Here is Jernigan's draft profile.

6:55 p.m. -- The Falcons drafted former Minnesota defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman, who appeared at No. 12 on Adam Hoge's Bears Big Board. Here is Hagemen's draft profile.

10:57 a.m. -- For your entertainment, we've compiled some clips of Kyle Fuller making ridiculous plays. Check them out here.

9:40 a.m. -- So much of Kyle Fuller's story is already intertwined with Charles Tillman's. We should instead let Fuller be himself, writes Dan Bernstein. And if that means Fuller is better, there should be no apprenticeship.

12:02 a.m. -- Here's Adam Hoge's take on why the Bears selected Kyle Fuller over safeties Calvin Pryor and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. In his opinion, Fuller fills a different glaring need.

Thursday's latest buzz ...

10:54 p.m. -- Here's our full, updated story on the Bears selecting cornerback Kyle Fuller at No. 14 overall. It includes his thoughts on why he believes he can play safety if need be.

10:46 p.m. -- Finally, after all these years of uneven quarterback play, the Vikings made a move to get better at a position that the other three NFC North teams have an elite player at. Minnesota traded up to grab Seattle's No. 32 pick and took Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. After three great years at Louisville, Bridgewater failed to impress in workouts for many teams, and he almost fell out of the first round after speculation in the past year that he could go No. 1 overall.

10:39 p.m. -- Northern Illinois safety Jimmie Ward has found a home in San Francisco, as the 49ers took him 30th overall. The Bears were reportedly interested in Ward, but because his value fell between their No. 14 and 51 picks, Chicago would've needed to pay a price to move up if it really wanted him. Safety still remains very much a need for the Bears.

10:32 p.m. -- The newest member of the Bears is a cornerback who hasn't played safety before, but he said he's open to it if need be. "We didn't talk about it specifically, but coming in, I feel like they know I can play corner or nickel, possibly safety," Kyle Fuller said. "Whatever it is, I'm a versatile player. I know they'll put me in the best situation for myself and for the team.

"I haven't actually played safety. Some of the things we did at Virginia Tech was some safety stuff, but being able to line up … My skill set, as far as being able to play safety, I'm tough, physical, can come up and tackle. I haven't played it, but I played corner and nickel and I feel like I can do that."

10:10 p.m. -- It's been a run of defensive players of late, with picks 23-26 coming on that side of the ball after Manziel was chosen. Two of the bigger names left on the board are quarterbacks: Derek Carr and Teddy Bridgewater. But other than the Cardinals, it doesn't look like anyone in the final six picks of the first round needs a quarterback -- unless the Broncos decide to look toward the future after Peyton Manning.

9:42 p.m. -- The Browns traded a third-rounder and their No. 26 overall pick to the Eagles to move up to No. 22 overall and took Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, the most polarizing figure in the draft. "I truly believe Cleveland was where I was supposed to end up," Manziel said in a TV interview. The Browns were desperate for a franchise quarterback, and Manziel in the minds of many has a boom-or-bust future.

9:34 p.m. -- The Bears didn't draft Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, but they will see plenty of him in the future. The Packers took Clinton-Dix at No. 21 overall in an effort to shore up their pass defense. Like the Bears taking Fuller, it was a logical move, for the NFC North features three elite passing offenses in the Bears, Packers and Lions. Defending the pass is a must.

9:09 p.m. -- Four picks after the Bears took Kyle Fuller, the Jets took safety Calvin Pryor, who the Bears were also believed to originally have on their list of targets. Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix still remains on the board.

8:43 p.m. -- The Bears have selected Virgina Tech cornerback Kyle Fuller at No. 14 overall. While he's not a safety, the 5-foot-11 3/4 Fuller fills a need in the secondary, and he should figure into the rotation right away, be it at No. 2 cornerback, at nickelback or even safety if the coaches want to get creative. Jon Gruden called Fuller "his favorite corner in the draft" and compared him to Charles Tillman.

8:37 p.m. -- The Rams selected Pitt defensive tackle Aaron Donald at No. 13, a player the Bears were interested in. The Bears are now on the clock.

8:15 p.m. -- It's looking like the Bears should have choices they like, with five offensive players having been selected in the top 10. Safeties Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Calvin Pryor are still on the board, as is Pitt defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Clinton-Dix or Pryor would fill a huge need for the Bears, while Donald would be a good fit as well, though defensive tackle isn't as thin as safety.

8:05 p.m. -- In a surprising move, the offensively challenged Browns moved up one spot to No. 8 and took Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert. Bears general manager Phil Emery said before the draft he had six players he was targeting who he thought could be available at No. 14; it's likely Gilbert was one of the.

7:59 p.m. -- Former Bears coach and new Bucs coach Lovie Smith has himself a new playmaker on the outside. Tampa Bay took 6-foot-5 receiver Mike Evans out of Texas A&M. He'll catch passes from former Bears backup quarterback Josh McCown, who signed a two-year, $10-million contract in the offseason with the Bucs to be the starter. Evans is a big talent, but it's an interesting pick nonetheless with Pitt defensive tackle Aaron Donald still on the board. For Chicago fans know well that Smith's focus has so often been on defense in his career.

7:37 p.m. -- We have our first trade of the draft, with the Bills moving up to the Browns' spot at No. 4 to take Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins. In return, the Browns get the Bills' No. 9 pick tonight, plus a first-rounder and fourth-rounder in 2015, ESPN reported.

7:31 p.m. -- Let the real fun begin. The first quarterback is off the board -- the Jaguars have selected Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles at No 3 overall. Johnny Manziel kept a stoic look and took a drink of water upon hearing the selection. A quarterback going early is a positive development for the Bears, who are likely to take a defensive player at No. 14. General manager Phil Emery said he hoped three quarterbacks would go in the top 13, giving the Bears more options for what they need.

7:15 p.m. -- With the top pick, the Texans selected South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Houston also needed a quarterback, but Clowney was the consensus top talent in the draft. Being taken No. 1 also fulfilled an expectation that many have had for Clowney for nearly two years.

6:27 p.m. -- The Texans are expected to keep their No. 1 overall pick and not make a trade, ESPN.com reported earlier this afternoon. It's still unknown who Houston plans to select.

5:49 p.m. -- In a TV hit, ESPN insider and premier newsbreaker Adam Schefter said Florida State defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan is a player to keep an eye on when the Bears draft at No. 14 overall. "We know the Chicago Bears love to throw curveballs on draft day," Schefter said.
