Bears Cut Isaiah Frey, James Brown To Get Down To 75 Players

(CBS) The Bears have cut cornerback Isaiah Frey and guard James Brown to get their roster down to the current 75-player limit this afternoon, they announced Tuesday afternoon.

Frey has been hampered by a hamstring injury for much of training camp and the preseason, making it difficult for him to prove himself. He suffered the injury the first week of August and hasn't played in any of the three preseason games.

The 24-year-old Frey was Chicago's nickel back in 2013 but had fallen down the depth chart after the Bears drafted Kyle Fuller in the first round last spring. In 2013, Frey had 37 tackles, starting six games and playing in all 16.

Brown was an undrafted free agent out of Troy in 2012 who has spent parts of his career on the Bears' practice squad and active roster.
