Man Taken Into Custody After Barricade Situation In Morton Grove

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A man was taken into custody after a barricade situation in Morton Grove Tuesday morning.

Around 9:15 a.m., 51-year-old Kevin Maguire was taken into custody after police entered the residence. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

Morton Grove Police and the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System, Emergency Services Team were outside a home, in the 8900 block of Oriole Street, for over 14 hours.

Officers were called to the residence around 5 p.m. Monday to take Maguire into custody for aggravated domestic battery. Police said Maguire displayed a shotgun and police remained outside of the residence.

Police said a family member, who was inside the house, was able to leave safely.

Police said the Maguire pointed his weapon at officers out of multiple windows of the home. This happened several times throughout the night.
