Four Homes Damaged In Back Of The Yards Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Four homes were damaged and 29 people were temporarily left without a place to live, after an extra-alarm fire in the Back of the Yards neighborhood early Friday.

The fire started around 1:30 a.m. at a home in the 4600 block of South Honore Street, and quickly spread to three other homes.

Firefighters said three homes were badly damaged, and one other sustained minor damage.

No one was injured, but officials said 29 people were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross was providing assistance.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
