Axe-Wielding Robbers Take $700 From Man In Grand Crossing, Police Say

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was robbed at axe-point early Saturday morning in the Grand Crossing community, police said.

At 76th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue around 2 a.m., the male victim was approached by two men – one of whom was holding an axe, police said.

The men demanded money and the victim handed over about $700, police said.

The suspects fled east on 76th Street in a blue Nissan, police said. No injuries were reported.

As of Saturday afternoon, no one was in custody.
