Autopsy: Woman Found Dead In South Holland Was Murdered

SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (STMW) -- A woman found dead Friday morning in south suburban South Holland died from multiple injures she suffered during an assault, an autopsy revealed Saturday.

Police were called to the 16700 block of State Street at 10:23 a.m. and found the 33-year-old woman dead, according to the village and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Rachael Galbregh, who lived on that same block, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:37 a.m., the medical examiner's office said.

An autopsy performed Saturday found she was assaulted and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.

Additional details on the assault were not available Sunday morning.

South Holland police have "secured" the location and are conducting a death investigation, a spokeswoman said Sunday morning.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is also investigating.
