Autopsy: Man Found Dead In Burning Car Was Shot To Death

(STMW) -- A person who was found dead in a burning car Wednesday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side was shot in the head, an autopsy found.

Crews responded to a car fire in the 10700 block of South Eggleston at 2:11 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

The body of a black male was discovered in the vehicle after the fire was extinguished, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. He remains unidentified as of Friday morning.

An autopsy found the male died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.
