Authorities Identify Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Glenview
(CBS) -- The Cook County Sheriff's office has now identified the woman killed just before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday on Golf Road near Glenview in what was initially reported as a hit-and-run.
The woman killed has been identified as 26-year-old Izah Malik of Niles.
Cook County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Sophia Ansari says the incident was originally believed to be a hit-and-run.
"At this point, it appears it was not," Ansari said. "At the time, it was reported the vehicle was not nearby. But our officers were able to locate and speak with the person who may have been involved in this accident."
Ansari says Malik was walking in the roadway when she was hit on Golf Road near Overlook Drive.
She says the area was dark and there's no crosswalk or sidewalks.
