Author Of New Book Details 100 Things To Do In Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The author of a new book called "100 Things to Do In Chicago Before You Die" admits it's a long list but says there are many hidden gems among them, reports WBBM's Craig Dellimore.

Sitting in Millennium Park, author Molly Page says there are several sights and activities within that venue. But, attractions spread across the city and suburbs.

"If they are into sports, than they can focus on that area, if they are into fashion or shopping they can focus on that area," she says.

Molly Page says the hard part was limiting her book to only 100 things to do in Chicago and they include things like deep dish pizza the symphony and even a poetry slam.

It also includes some unexpected treasures are in the city's neighborhoods. She says one of her favorites is the National Museum of Mexican Art in Pilsen. Then she quickly corrects herself to say she shouldn't play favorites. But she says it's a great museum and free from Tuesday through Sunday.

But what does she say to people who only have a day in Chicago? She laughs, and says they made a terrible mistake, and should have planned more time here. But seriously, there are itineraries for those with limited time.
