Austin Man Charged In Loop Beating

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man faces battery charges after he severely beat another man in the Loop Tuesday night, police said.

Stanley Riley, 55, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery after he beat a 50-year-old man in the 200 block of South State Street about 9 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Riley struck the other man "several times causing bleeding and severe trauma to the face and head."

Riley, of the 0-100 block of North Lorel, was arrested a short time later, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
