Austin Jackson, Matt Davidson Will Miss Rest Of Season For White Sox

(CBS) White Sox outfielder Austin Jackson and third baseman Matt Davidson will both miss the rest of the season as they continue to recover from injuries, general manager Rick Hahn told reporters Thursday.

The news isn't surprising. Jackson underwent surgery in the second week of June to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee. He hit .254 with 18 RBIs and a .661 OPS in 54 games before his injury.

Jackson's progress in his recovery has been slow, Hahn said.

The 25-year-old Davidson had quite the misfortunate, fracturing his right foot in his White Sox debut on June 30. He hadn't played in the big leagues in the previous three seasons after debuting in 2013. Davidson has undergone surgery on his foot.
