Austin Fire Leads To A Death Investigation

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police and fire responded early Saturday morning to a refuse fire and discovered a dead body in the Austin neighborhood.

Officers received a call around 1:25 a.m. Saturday morning to a fire located in an alley near the 5500 block of West Cortez in Chicago's Austin neighborhood, according to police.

After arriving at the scene, police discovered the remains of a burned body. Police could not determine the age of gender of the body, CBS 2's Lauren Victory reports.

Chicago Police are calling the situation a death investigation that is on going.
