At Least One Girl Injured When Bullet Pierces Pizza Hut Window

(CBS) – At least one girl was hurt Friday evening when a bullet struck a window at a Pizza Hut on Chicago's South Side.

The incident occurred at 67th and Stony Island Avenue, with children present.

Chicago police say a six-year-old girl was injured by shattered glass in her right arm and back. She was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition.

"I just saw the kids coming out of the Pizza Hut really scared.  They had bandages on their arms and legs and were screaming for their mother to take them home," witness Tracy Brown said.

Brown said the shopping plaza needs security cameras and said it is terrible when a parent is scared to take his youngsters for a slice of pizza.  He is.

Police say the search for the shooter continues. Area South police detectives are investigating.
