One Dead After Car Crashes Into Aurora Retention Pond

(CBS) -- One person is dead after a car drove into a retention pond in Aurora Tuesday afternoon, a spokesman for the town of Aurora said.

Divers from the Aurora Fire Department located the car and the body of a 59-year-old man in the pond at Tara Belle Parkway and Normantown Road.

According to preliminary information, Aurora police believe the car was involved in a hit-and-run crash in the area of Montgomery Road and Tara Belle Parkway and went into the pond. Three other vehicles were involved in that crash and one person was treated for minor injuries.
