Ashburn Residents On Alert After Attempted Kidnapping

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police have issued an alert for people who live in the Ashburn neighborhood after an attempted kidnapping.

The incident happened near 79th and Lawndale around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say a man followed a woman for several blocks and then approached her and tried to pull her into a cream-colored GMC Savana van.

The victim was able to escape and the man ran off.
