Arrest Warrant Issued For Father Of Girl Found Alone In Forest Preserve

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Cook County Sheriff's police have taken steps to bring a 35-year-old man back from Michigan, after he showed up there a day after allegedly leaving his 3-year-old daughter alone in a forest preserve in northwest suburban Prospect Heights earlier this week.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Faiz Ikramulla, on a count of aggravated kidnapping, according to the sheriff's office.

Police said his daughter, Aliya, was seen crying and waving her hands as she was walking along Palatine Road, on the western edge of the Allison Woods Forest Preserve, around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

She was identified later the same day, and detectives learned her mother was in the process of filing a missing person's report for Aliya and her father. Upon further investigation, police learned Aliya's father had left her alone in Allison Woods, believing no one would find her right away.
