Archbishop Cupich Celebrates Easter Mass In Tinley Park

(CBS) -- For his first Easter as the leader of the Archdiocese of Chicago, Archbishop Blase Cupich celebrated mass at St. Julie Billiart Parish Tinley Park instead of at Holy Name Cathedral.

The service started off with a prayer for Archbishop Blase Cupich's predecessor Cardinal Francis George, who's back home from the hospital because of pain and dehydration related to his cancer.

Cupich says he's doing as well as can be expected.

"I'm glad that they took care of those issues so that now he can go back to a place that is familiar to him and also much more restful for him," Cupich said.

Archbishop Cupich says he's grateful for the warm welcome he got at St. Julie's

"I have memories of all the Easters in the past and this is special and in many ways because a lot of people put a lot of work in arranging for a visit like this," he said.

Cupich had a busy weekend with Easter celebrations Saturday and Sunday.
