2 injured in apartment fire on Chicago's Southwest Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two people were hurt in a fire in an apartment in the West Lawn neighborhood Monday.

The fire broke out just after 11:30 a.m. in an apartment in the 1960s-era apartment building at 3941 W. 59th St., just east of Pulaski Road.

Glass was broken on the second floor of the three-story building, where the fire broke out.

The CFD said two people were taken to area hospitals from the scene, but the nature and severity of their injuries was not immediately learned.

There was no word late Monday on how the fire started.
