Antoine Vermette Returning To Coyotes

(CBS) Free agent forward Antoine Vermette is leaving the Blackhawks and heading back to the Arizona Coyotes.

Vermette signed a two-year, $3.75-million deal with the Coyotes on Wednesday, returning to the franchise he spent the previous three years with before being sent to Chicago at the trade deadline this season. Vermette proved to be a key contributor for the Blackhawks, scoring two game-winning goals in the Stanley Cup Final as Chicago won its third title in six seasons.

Vermette had enjoyed playing for Arizona before he was traded, and with Chicago facing a salary cap crunch, the move came as no surprise. He was priced out of the Blackhawks' range.
