Anti-Cruelty Society Holds Puppy Parade To Boost Adoptions
CHICAGO (CBS) -- There was an unusual parade in downtown Chicago on Friday. If anyone saw something in the parade they liked, they got to take it home.
The Anti-Cruelty Society paraded several puppies through downtown to raise awareness of the need for good home for the pets. Organizers figured the best way to get people to adopt was by letting people see the dogs along their parade from the group's River North headquarters to Prudential Plaza.
"She just gave me a big hug, and a lick. She's so sweet," Amy Russell said, after taking time to pet each of the puppies in the parade. "I have two rescues, and they're grateful for everything you give. They'll love you forever."
The Anti-Cruelty Society was planning another parade in two weeks, but hasn't yet said where that one will be.
