Anti-Abortion Protesters March Through Loop

(CBS) -- At least 1,000 people braved the cold weather to march against abortion, reports WBBM's Mariam Sobh.

The crowd huddled together trying to keep warm as they listened to speakers discuss abortion, including Chicago's Archbishop Blase Cupich.

"As we stand here huddled together, warmed by each other as one family, we want to send the message that we want to embrace, with a warm hug, children who come to the world," Cupich said.

Anti-abortion protesters came to Chicago from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan Iowa, Wisconsin and Missouri.

Some people turned up in a counter-protest. The young women held up pink signs that read "my body, my choice."

Earlier, organizers of a pro-abortion rights march say it drew about 250 people.
