Another Woman Attacked, Robbed In Midlothian

By John Dodge

CHICAGO (CBS) -- In at least the fourth attack in Midlothian in recent weeks, a woman was robbed walking home from the train shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The attack happened at 145th and Trumbull as the woman was walking alone around 12:30 a.m.

The scenario was the same as the other robberies.

The suspect was wearing a hoodie with his face covered, when the attack happened.

Police suggest that women call for a ride and never walk alone.

WBBM Newsradio's Nancy Harty reports, in the past three weeks, two women and a 17-year-old girl have been beaten and robbed by a masked man.

One victim, a 26-year-old mother, had just taken her baby out of her car when the man grabbed her.

"The only thing I was thinking about was (my child)," she tells CBS 2's Mai Martinez.

"My main goal was to protect her."

She says she locked her child in the back seat before her attacker threw her to the ground. The man shook out her purse and stole some money before running off, leaving her with a broken nose, two black eyes and a possible concussion.
