Officials first responded to a reported alligator sighting in Lake Lynwood on Wednesday. According to the Lynwood Fire Department, "Alex the Alligator" was captured safely on Friday near Lake Lynwood.
Officials said the alligator will be quarantined for 30 days and will then be sent to a licensed reptile park in a southern state.
