Alert Issued After Four Humboldt Park Robberies
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Four people were robbed in three days in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side, prompting police to issue a community alert.
In these robberies, one or two suspects showed a handgun before taking cellphones, purses, money, and credit cards, the alert said. All of the robberies occurred within a few blocks of each other, with two on the same day.
The most recent robbery happened on Oct. 30 in the 1100 block of North Pulaski Road about 12:15 p.m. The first robbery occurred a block south on Oct. 27 about 2 a.m., police said.
The other two robberies occurred on Oct. 29, one in the 4200 block of West Division Street at 8:40 a.m. and the other in the 4000 block of West Division about 4:05 p.m., police said.
The suspects are described as two black males. One is believed to be between 16 and 20 years old, standing between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-9, and weighing 160 pounds, police said. The second is thought to be 25-30 years old, with a medium complexion, standing between 5-foot-9 and 6-foot and weighing between 200 and 220 pounds.
