A Night Of Lows, Presented By The Chicago Bears

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The sports staff at CBS Chicago has declared the "blocked" punt as perhaps the most embarrassing play in Chicago Bears history.
That got us to thinking: Why stop there?
Clay Matthews vs. Chris Williams
There was the hit by Packers linebacker Clay Matthews on Chris Williams. Was Matthews in the Bears' huddle on this one? Did he catch Marc Trestman pointing to the play on his play card? Has anybody done a study on how often that play fails at the NFL level?
This one clearly didn't matter, at least as it relates to the outcome of the game. Yet, it was another pass from Jay Cutler that had no chance of being completed. Also notice tight end Dante Rosario wide open to Cutler's left.
Screen Pass A Free Pass To The House
This was a nicely executed screen pass. Look at that wall in front of Eddie Lacy!
Also look at how haphazard the Bears secondary pursues the Packers running back.
If that doesn't say "We Quit", then what does?
Aaron Rodgers glides to his right (did you see that Ryan Mundy, he went to the right!).
He then flicks the ball effortlessly to a wide open Jordy Nelson after the safety Mundy fails to react.
It was Nelson second touchdown of the half.
It is hard to determine whether Nelson was more wide open on the first touchdown, or the second.
However, he ran the same, simple route, straight up the field.
And the Bears were fooled. Remember, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice ...
Nelson isn't the fastest wide receiver out there, but he looked like Usain Bolt compared with the lackluster Bears secondary.
The first step when you have hit rock bottom is to admit you have a problem.
The problem is: Have the Bears hit rock bottom?
