Man In Custody After Standoff With SWAT Teams In Park Manor

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was in custody Wednesday morning, after a domestic dispute turned into a nearly three-hour standoff in Park Manor.

Police said officers arrived on the scene of a domestic incident at a home near 71st and Rhodes around 8:30 a.m. A man then barricaded himself inside the home.

A woman and an infant who were in the home at the time were later safely removed, police said. They were being checked out at a hospital as a precaution.

SWAT teams responded to the scene, and the man was taken into custody by about 11:15 a.m.

Nearby Park Manor Elementary School, at 70th and Rhodes, was locked down during the barricade situation.
