60-Year-Old Man Pulled From Belmont Harbor

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 60-year-old man was hospitalized in serious condition Sunday morning after he was pulled from Lake Michigan on the North Side.

The man was riding his bicycle and then jumped into the water in Belmont Harbor about 11:35 a.m., according to Chicago Fire Dept. Cmdr. Curtis Hudson.

Another man jumped in and pulled the 60-year-old out of the water, Hudson said.

Bystanders began performing CPR and an ambulance arrived to take the man to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Hudson said. He regained a pulse on the way to the hospital.

Hudson said the man was in serious-to-critical condition at Masonic.
