6-Year-Old Dies After Fire In Altgeld Gardens; Five Children Left Alone At The House

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A 6-year-old boy died after a row-house fire in Altgeld Gardens Wednesday night.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, a total of five kids were at the house and no adults were present at the time of the fire.

The 6-year-old boy was taken to Roseland Hospital, where he died. CFD said the child suffered burns.

A neighbor was able to save four of the kids from the burning home, located at 13048 Evans Avenue.

Fire officials said the oldest child at the house was 13 years old.
