5 Shot In Elgin

ELGIN, Ill. (STMW) -- Five people were shot early Sunday in northwest suburban Elgin.

The shooting happened in the 300 block of North Street about 3:10 a.m., according to a release from Elgin police.

Four victims were taken to either Sherman Hospital or Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police said a fifth victim drove to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Elgin police Gang Crimes Unit responded to the scene and is investigating the shooting, police said.
