3 Members Of Illinois Racing Board Forced To Resign For Making Political Contributions

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Three members of the Illinois Racing Board have been forced to hand in their resignations.

Board Chairman Jeffrey Brincat of Lake Forest, and members Gregory Sronce of Springfield and Edgar Ramirez of Chicago, are all out.

The office of Gov. J.B. Pritzker told CBS 2 that the men were asked to step down because they made political contributions.

The Illinois Horse Racing Act dictates that no member of the board "shall engage in any political activity."
